In 2011, Symantec declared that it was the year of the data breach. Now, a recent report from the company has found that 2013 was the year of the mega data breach, since the breaches last year were much greater than those in the past.
This highlights the importance of making sure both your company's network and physical security is up to par, since clearly breaches are on the rise. Forbes reported that Symantec found the number of data breaches grew 62 percent from 2012 to 2013, resulting in 552 million exposed identities.
