As more companies continue to move their data to the cloud, the hot topic has become how to keep that data secure for both their customers – and themselves.
The long-standing custom for web-based authentication have been services which assign special tokens, passwords or digital certificates to authenticate the user – but these credentials can be easily stolen or forgotten, ultimately putting at risk both individuals and large companies.
That’s why the move to the cloud needs to become increasingly intertwined with the move to biometric security. By requiring users to be identified by their fingerprint – a credential they can’t very easily lose – facilities can more securely protect sensitive data from both internal and external threats.
