Some areas of your company’s headquarters require a higher level of security than others. To ensure the protection of the important technology in these rooms, you may want to require that two employees be present at the same time in order to gain access to them.

With dual-custody authentication, a second user will have to be scanned within 10 seconds of the first authorized user’s entrance to the room. This way, you ensure that no one person can be in a high-security area alone. Even if an employee’s access information has been compromised, any intruder would need help from a second authorized user in order to enter.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that only two people can be in a room protected with this feature at a time. You can enable dual-custody authentication override to allow a third person to enter the room after the two main authorized users have identified themselves.
