If preventing data security breaches still isn’t on the top of your priority list, it should be. Keeping your data centers secure is one of the best things you can do to help ensure that both your clients’ sensitive information – and your company’s reputation – remain safe.

To see an example of how devastating a breach can be, look no further than the continued fallout from Target’s data breach this past December. Months later, Target CEO Gregg Steinhafel resigned after 35 years with the retailer. It was widely speculated that the data breach likely contributed to Steinhafel’s decision to leave.

While this is an example of online hackers gaining access to sensitive data, it should inspire you to ensure that your physical data centers are safe. Just as hackers can infiltrate a company online, an intruder could gain access to your unprotected data center and steal important client information.
